My name is John Croissant, and my wife Cecilie and I attend the Bridge Church in Bixby, OK. Before I share more, I just want to say that God has a plan and destiny for your life. You are significant to God.
The year was 1977, and it was a day like any other, at least so I thought. I found myself in church, not because I really wanted to go to church, but because I was invited by a girl that I liked. Up until that day, I had been doing drugs and alcohol, and hadn’t been straight for more than 2 weeks in 9 years. During the church service half way through the message, the pastor stopped and said, “There is someone here that is in trouble.” I thought to myself, I wonder who that could be. The pastor did this two more times, and the third time he said, “I am not going on any further until that person comes forward.” By this time, I felt the presence of God on me. I realized God was talking to me. I went up and gave my life to Jesus Christ.
My whole life changed forever that day. I was born again by the Spirit of God, and entered into a living relationship with Jesus Christ. I was instantly delivered from the desire for drugs and alcohol, and I made an agreement with God that I would give my entire life to Him if He would reveal Himself with me. I didn’t want religion, I wanted a real relationship with Him. From that moment, I gave up my old friendships and made it my quest to know Him.
Before I knew Christ, I had very low self-esteem and felt insignificant. Through Christ, my world was turned upside down, and He began to direct my life into His purpose. It was through understanding my new identity in Christ that my life took on significance, and God’s destiny for my life began to unfold. I am married to a wonderful woman, and I have three wonderful daughters and five grandchildren.
I have had the privilege of starting several churches, pastoring, teaching in Bible Schools, and ministering the gospel in 25 nations of the world. My message to the people God sends me to has always centered on the reality that what God did in my life, He can do in others.
As you are reading this, I want you to know that God has a deep love for you. He truly cares about your life. He would love to reveal His destiny for you. If He can take a nobody like me and make me a somebody, He can and will do the same for you.
I would like to thank Antonio Moreno for giving me the opportunity to share my testimony with you.
