How can I be sure I’m saved?

We base our faith on facts.  God is facts.

The enemy’s first tactic is to make us doubt the work Jesus is doing in our hearts.  He will try to convince you that there isn’t a God and that you aren’t saved.  Satan wants to be God, and the only way he can get you on his side is to discredit God and make you doubt that He is God.

Jesus makes us a promise that He will never leave us or forsake us. All we have to do is call on His name.  Salvation (being saved) requires nothing more than believing Jesus died for us and has saved us from our sins.  We can have assurance that we ARE saved and that Jesus IS who He says He is.

Take the assurance test.  Ask yourselves these questions:

  1. Facts– Does the Bible ever change?
  2. Feelings– Do our feelings change?  What determines our feelings?
  3. Faith– What happens if our faith is based on our feelings?  What happens if our faith is based on God’s word?

How did you answer the questions?  Should you rely on the facts of the Bible or on your ever-changing feelings?  Obviously the facts are what you should rely on.

The facts are once you accept Jesus and confess Him as Lord of your life:

Don’t ever let anyone or anything persuade you that you aren’t saved.  God said it.  You should believe it.  And that settles it.
