Who is Jesus?

Christianity revolves around one person: Jesus Christ.  So who is He?

In John 14:4, Jesus says: I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”  Jesus was one with God and is the Son of God. Jesus was sent to act as a gateway to God. He was sent to the Earth with a purpose: to save man from their sins. Jesus’s birth, death, and resurrection paved the way for us to be saved from our sin.

God Himself even proclaimed Jesus as His son. At Jesus’s baptism is the first proclamation.  Matthew 3:17 says:  a voice from heaven said, “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased.”  This was reconfirmed during Jesus’s transfiguration.   Matthew 17:5: a bright cloud overshadowed them, and a voice from the cloud said, “This is my beloved Son  with whom I am well pleased; listen to him.”

church-1788487_1920.jpgThe Old Testament foretold of Jesus’s (Messiah) coming.  At least 109 separate and distinct prophecies were fulfilled with Jesus.  A few of these prophecies are:

The odds of any one fulfilling all 109 are very small.  However, Jesus did fulfill EVERY prophecy foretelling His coming. He was born of a virgin in Bethlehem. Jesus was rejected by His own people (the Jews) and crucified.  During His crucifixion, Jesus was pierced in the side by a sword, but no bones were broken. He was buried in a tomb and was resurrected 3 days later.

Jesus overcame death and was resurrected to save us from our sins. Jesus gives us new life. He replaces our old selves with a new born again self. We are now one with Him and one with God. There is no other way to God except through Jesus Christ.
