Judgment of the Nations & the Millennial Kingdom

Yesterday we discussed the Glorious Appearance of Jesus at the Battle of Armageddon.  He has single-handedly defeated the Antichrist and his allies using only the word of God. Next on the next major event on the timeline is the Millennial Kingdom of Jesus. However, there is some business that needs to be taken care of before the Kingdom is set up.

According to the book of Daniel, there will be a 75-day interval between the end of the Tribulation and the beginning of the Millennial Kingdom.  Daniel 12:11-12:  And from the time that the regular burnt offering is taken away and the abomination that makes desolate is set up, there shall be 1,290 days. Blessed is he who waits and arrives at the 1,335 days.

We know that the Tribulation lasts 1,260 days.  This leaves 75-days unaccounted for. Because of the Judgments of God, the earth will need time to regenerate for the Millennial Kingdom.  Plus Jesus has some business to take care of before His reign begins. The first 30 days will be used to cleanse the temple and get it ready for Jesus to sit on the Millennial throne.  The remaining 45-days are for for the Judgment of the nations.

Not everyone will enter the Millennial Kingdom. We have previously learned that many people will be deceived by the Antichrist and will receive the Mark of the Beast.  Anyone with this mark has decided against God and cannot be redeemed. Jesus will be separating the “goats” from the “sheep”.   Matthew 25:32-33:  Before him will be gathered all the nations, and he will separate people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats.  And he will place the sheep on his rightthrone-judgment, but the goats on the left.  The sheep are believers and the goats are unbelievers.  Believers will enter the Millennial Kingdom and unbelievers will be thrown into the Lake of Fire.

Once this business is completed, believers will enter the Millennial Kingdom.  This Kingdom will be amazing!  Jesus will sit on the throne of David and rule the world.  He will bring peace and righteousness to everyone.  The earth will transform.  Desserts will bloom.  Animals will all coexist and live in harmony.  People will live much longer lives and there will be no sickness (Isaiah 29:18). The majority of people will worship Jesus every day and enjoy each other’s company.

Unfortunately, rebellion will not be totally eradicated.  Because people who have not previously died or been raptured have entered the Millennial Kingdom, children will still be born.  God still believes in free-will and gives these children a choice to follow Jesus. Even though they are in the presence of Jesus every day, some people will still choose to not follow Him.

At the end of the Millennial Kingdom, Satan will be released and allowed to tempt the people living in the Millennial Kingdom.  Some will choose to follow and will receive the same fate as those who did not follow during the Tribulation.

After the Millennial Kingdom is the Great White Throne Judgment.  We will conclude this series tomorrow with this topic.  Don’t miss out!
