In our society, we tend to be identified by our profession. Some people stock shelves at the supermarket while other people sit in an office and make decisions that keep billion dollar business alive and thriving. Many people have a good heart and want to help those who are less fortunate. Everyone has a purpose.
New ideas and technology arrive daily and helps improve our lives. Technology has given us a new window to learn and to apply information quicker. These important ideas come from amazing people who God created. Not everything that comes around good, but we can analyze it and make decisions for ourselves whether or not to apply it. Everything that has been created has been from the creator God Himself and the power of His word. Nothing that has been created is an accident.
What’s your story? Do you know your creator and have you had an opportunity to get to know Him on a personal level? Have you had an encounter with Him and do you know His name? Do you know what He is all about?
Out of every thing God has created, He is more interested in you. In God’s eyes, humans are the most important beings on the earth and He wants every person to know Him personally. You identity must be rooted in God. There is nothing more important for you to discover than your true identity in Christ.
Here are some identity realities from your creator:
- God created you in His own image. Genesis 1:27
- I [God] have created you by name. You are mine. Isaiah 43:1
- I [God] love you with everlasting love. Jeremiah 31:3
- You can only find purpose in Him. Colossians 1:16
- You must read God’s own writing of who you are. Matthew 19:4
- In him we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to the purpose of him who works all things according to the counsel of his will. Ephesians 1:11

The Bible is the only source of information on what our identity should look like and be. We needed a savior and Jesus was willing to pay the price to restore us to the father. Jesus Christ has the ultimate say so in your life– not people or opinions, not circumstances or experiences, not feelings or emotions, not even your own way of thinking.
As we walk with Him and listen to His thoughts (the Bible) on us, our identity will make sense and we will know exactly how we are supposed to be. We can use His word like a map in our life guiding us in the right direction. We will have a much easier path to find the finish line and to see Jesus face-to-face. He guarantees us eternal life and a victorious life on this earth if we place our identity in Him. As we continue to know Jesus more on a daily basis, His thoughts will be our thoughts and His ways will be our ways. Our lives will be fulfilled and our identities will flourish.
It’s important to continue to discover who you are in Christ. Your self-worth will increase just to learn and know that you were created by Him and for Him. Destiny is a big word and that is where you and I are headed if we remain in Christ. Let today be the day that the apostle Paul’s words will take on new meaning for us and for eternity: For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord (Romans 8:38-39).
Let that verse be your anthem song and words that will resound forever. Hallelujah to Jesus our Savior, Redeemer, Lord, and God. Forever will He be praised. Amen.
