Facing your Fears

by Angela Moreno

Fear. That ice cold that drips over your heart when you are in an unknown situation or facing a situation that you aren’t sure what the outcome will be. You may be scared that you won’t have enough money to pay the bills this month, or maybe the Holy Spirit is asking you to speak to someone about your faith. The fear creeps in and you may not realize that your faith is being challenged by an known assailant.

You need to remember that fear cancels out faith. God cannot work on our behalf if we do not trust Him to provide for all our needs, even those needs that may cause fear in our lives.

The enemy wants to keep us off-guard and in a state of panic and fear.  Satan wants us not trusting God and not receiving the blessings of God.  When we live in a state of fear or disbelief, God cannot help us. He cannot give us the blessings that He wants us to have.  We have to let Him into the situation, and we have to believe that He will come through for us not matter what.

When we face a fearful situation, God makes us several promises:

  • God will give you the strength to face the fear. Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. Isaiah 41:10nothing-1394845_1920
  • God will give you peace. Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. John 14:27
  • God will provide for you. And do not seek what you are to eat and what you are to drink, nor be worried. For all the nations of the world seek after these things, and your Father knows that you need them. Luke 12:29-30
  • God goes with you wherever you go. Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you. Deuteronomy 31:6
  • God holds your hand. For I, the Lord your God, hold your right hand; it is I who say to you, “Fear not, I am the one who helps you.” Isaiah 41:13
  • God will keep you safe. The fear of man lays a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord is safe. Proverbs 29:25

Next time fear creeps into your mind, rebuke it and tell the enemy to go away. Jesus has already won the battle.  Satan wants you to think the battle is ongoing. It’s not. Jesus has overcome everything–even the things that we fear. Trust in your Heavenly Father for all of your needs.

No doubts, no fears.
