The resurrection of Jesus Christ was and still is the most controversial topic in the Bible.
Some people are trying to understand the resurrection with human logic. Some try to find historical facts to support the existence of Jesus and the resurrection. Others try to understand with family traditions or cultural beliefs and also fail.
Trying to understand the resurrection of Jesus using human logic is like trying to understand every detail of what is occurring when a baby is forming in its mother’s womb. We may understand scientifically what it takes to conceive a child but we can’t see every detail that is taking place or know exactly what is occurring at every moment of development. Small details are occurring that we can’t understand or see. Eventually we see the finished product
and the miracle that has occurred. But only the one who created the baby can see every detail and knows every detail at any given moment.
I believe that if you want to understand life, it all begins with Jesus being born, His death, His burial, and His resurrection. Not only did He come to this earth to tell us about the heart of God, but Jesus also came to show us the heart of God and what our lives should be like. This amazing truth was originated in the heart of God before creation or the earth existed. This is why it is so confusing to the human mind and so difficult for us to comprehend. It’s much easier to just accept the facts and the truths given to us by God.
Things we need to remember:
- We are not big enough to take care of ourselves.
- We do not have the needed power on our own to survive; we are bankrupt.
- We alone do not have the power of God that Jesus talks about.
- We need God’s power to be set free from our sins.
- We need God’s power to stand in front of His presence.
- We need God’s power to live and to be where we were first created to be.
All of us need the power of the resurrection that only Jesus offers. No other man has the power we need. No religion has the power. No human wisdom has the power. Jesus died and He is alive today. Jesus is the only one born and raised from the dead who has and offers the power to forgive sins. No other man in history has this power.
Let’s look at some verses that support God’s grace and power through the resurrection:
- Luke 2:11: The Savior—yes, the Messiah, the Lord—has been born today in Bethlehem, the city of David!
- Matthew 9:6: So I will prove to you that the Son of Man has the authority on earth to forgive sins.”

- Romans 1:4: And he was shown to be the Son of God when he was raised from the dead by the power of the Holy Spirit. He is Jesus Christ our Lord.
- Romans 1:16: For I am not ashamed of this Good News about Christ. It is the power of God at work, saving everyone who believes—the Jew first and also the Gentile.
- 1 Corinthians 1:18: The message of the cross is foolish to those who are headed for destruction! But we who are being saved know it is the very power of God.
- 1 Corinthians 2:4-5: And my message and my preaching were very plain. Rather than using clever and persuasive speeches, I relied only on the power of the Holy Spirit. I did this so you would trust not in human wisdom but in the power of God.
God’s grace is the resurrection of Jesus Christ. We need a savior and we need the power of God to be saved. You can start today by changing your heart and mind. Admit that you are a sinner and admit you alone cannot save yourself. Admit you need a Savior and then repent. Accept God’s grace which is Jesus Christ the risen Savior!
