Throughout history, we have heard of men and women who have known God in a mighty way. Because they knew God, they find a purpose in their lives. As these men and women begin to listen to the counsel of the Lord, they wanted to do something in return for God because of the wonderful gifts He has given. Men and women that have remained faithful to the Lord have their own story to tell. They have a testimony that they can hold onto it.
If we read the Bible, we see from the beginning how God appeared and gave man his purpose. It is marvelous to think that Adam knew God in an unmistakeable way and was able to hear God’s voice and His thoughts. Adam also knew God’s ways and what pleased Him. Everything was perfect. But we know how the story end; Adam decided to be his own person and turn away from God.
It is so amazing that when we hear the story of Jesus, He was always talking and encouraging everyone that He encountered every single day that He was on the earth. Jesus encouraged people to know God in a deeper way. Jesus was a mentor, a coach, a guide, and everything each person needed Him to be. Even today, Jesus is still everything that every man and woman needs.
When you know Jesus, you know the heart of God. In return you experience the love of the Father, His forgiveness, His mercy, His grace, His peace, and His joy. In every situation that you are going through right now, God is always reaching out to us. Let’s take a moment today and to encourage one another to continue to be thankful and to be grateful for the life that we have. Thank Him for the basic necessities of life that we need every day; without them we would be struggling.
God is the everlasting Father. He is the Prince of Peace. He is our banner that we stand under. He is everything He said. he is Jehovah-Jireh. There are many things that we set out to accomplish everyday. But let’s not forget to take time to know God better. If we know God a little more each day, it will help us overcome obstacles, problems, and eventually our own doubts and fears. Let’s trust him every day with our lives and encourage one another.
One day, the end of our lives will come. What story will you leave behind? Will your story show you knew God or that you didn’t know God? We all have a choice. What will you choose?
