Isn’t it amazing that everyone of us has been given the power of choice? We can choose what we can say, who we can listen to, and why we should listen to certain people. We have many opportunities to do good and to be a testimony of what we believe and who we trust.
We all must learn to trust God. As Christians, we enter into the presence of God through His word (Bible) and our conversation (prayer) that we have with Him. It doesn’t matter what your age, where you live, or how you grew up. We all can choose to enter into God’s presence and change our identity. Your identity is very important because you will become what God intended for you to be if you choose to listen and accept God’s will for your life. Let’s choose to learn more about who we are in Him.
We have all missed it in some areas of our lives and we shouldn’t feel condemnation or disappointment in ourselves. It’s just part of the progress of becoming the person we should be. One thing that I would like to encourage myself and others is to continue to do God’s will in our lives.
What does the will of God mean to you? There are so many distractions in this world for every generation. At the end of the day, we must ask ourselves this question: am I growing, following, and doing the will of God?
I always learn something when I think about Peter and his journey in the Bible. How many times did Peter blow it! But I also remember that when Jesus rose from the dead, one of the first disciples He asked for was Peter. Why did he ask for Peter? Because the Lord knew Peter’s heart and that after
the resurrection Peter would be a changed man ready to take the gospel of the kingdom not only to the where he lived but all over the world. Peter did the will of God. Peter knew the words of Jesus as they were engrained in Peter’s heart. After seeing the risen Savior, all Peter could think about was doing what Jesus asked him to do.
Acts 4:33 says: The apostles testified powerfully to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and God’s great blessing was upon them all. As this verse says, great power was ready to be displayed. Not only from Peter, but all the disciples that were with Jesus. Because the testimonies of the resurrection of Christ was so real to them and so fresh on their minds, they were willing to carry out what Jesus had appointed them to. They chose to do the will of God.
So one question remains for you and I: is the passion of Christ burning in our hearts to continue to share our testimony of the resurrection of Christ in us? If so, let’s share it with someone today. Leave a mark that you were in this world and that you are anointed, ready, and unchangeable. Show everyone that you trusted Jesus to your last breath and you did the will of God.
Can you do it? Absolutely. Let’s be just like Peter.
