We need the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

Every human on this planet needs some kind of guidance in every stage of their life. A newborn child depends totally on his parents for every one of his needs.

I remember the day that I stepped onto U.S. soil at the age of 14. I left my family, my country, and my friends with very little or no resources. I left my comfort zone and in the process, I faced many challenges. First, I didn’t know any English, and second we didn’t know where we were going. We had no end destination in mind just the U.S. I did not know anything about Christ at that time. It wouldn’t be until I was 26 that I would accept Him. My friend and I just looked at each other and asked “where are we going?” We had no guidance and we just kept walking. We faced many challenges. We wouldn’t eat anything for days and we had no water. I can say that it was the grace of God that kept us alive.

Many years have gone by now and I could easily write a book about that journey and how the hand of God could be seen though out the entire journey. I can clearly say that I need guidance every day. Now I am married with 4 grown children. I look up to Jesus for peace and for guidance. It’s difficult to raise children these days and they also need guidance.

There is a story in the Bible that I can identify with. The 12 disciples had the guidance and leadership of Jesus for 3 years. They ate many meals together, they had traveled to many places, and Jesus had taken care of them. They had their master, teacher, and cross-2043874_640guider with them, the Lord Jesus Christ. But there came a time when He told them that His time had come and that He must finish what God had sent Him for. His assignment was to go to the cross to die for the sins of the world.

Jesus taught the disciples many lessons. He even told them that He would not leave them orphans. “And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate, who will never leave you.” John 14:16. The Holy Spirit was sent to be their guidance, comforter and so much more. But when the Father sends the Advocate as my representative—that is, the Holy Spirit—he will teach you everything and will remind you of everything I have told you.” John 14:26. If you want more in-depth look at this entire conversation, read John 14-17.

Jesus had compassion and felt as though He was abandoning His disciples. He wanted to them to know that He wasn’t leaving them completely, but someone else would take His place. Maybe you have felt that you have been abandoned with no hope for tomorrow. You may have faced many challenges that have brought tears, hurts, and pains. But remember, Jesus is assuring us today that we have been given the Holy Spirit to guide us, to teach us, and to comfort us. It doesn’t matter how far you have gone away from the Lord or how much the pain you have faced. All you need to say is Holy Spirit I need you. I need you more everyday. Help me with the things I cannot understand. I need your comforting presence.

Maybe you feel alone, but you are not alone. The Holy Spirit dwells in you. If you have received Christ as Lord of your life, you have been sealed with the wonderful presence of the Holy Spirit. Open your heart and yield to His guidance. He will speak to you in a way you will understand. You will feel comfort and you will have strength for today, tomorrow and the days to come. The Holy Spirit is so in love with you that He wants you to know Him more. Today is a great day for you to begin to get to know Him in a different way.

Is it possible? Absolutely.
