It has been 2000 years since our Lord and Savior went to Heaven to present to the Father His own blood as the ultimate price of redemption for every man. Jesus did this for every man in the past, present, and future.
It is overwhelming for me to think about the fact that Jesus was there in the beginning of creation, the very day God made the Heavens and the earth. Then Jesus made the choice to come to the earth as a man to show the world the heart and kindness of God. Jesus came to show humanity the relentless, unconditional love of God.
The apostle John heard Jesus say the words we read in John 3:16: “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.” God loved us so much that He made the ultimate expression of that love: He gave us His son. God is a giver by nature and that will never change. His character is one of love, and one of His attributes is that He is a giver. He never stops giving. God gives us light, food, shelter, peace, joy, kindness, hope, and so much more.
Before you and I were on this earth, God provided exactly what we needed to physically live on this earth. But we are a spirit being that is living in a body. This body is our temple that also houses our soul, our emotions, and our feelings. God knows each one of our weaknesses and makes up for this lack with His strength.
We still have free-will to make our own choices and He allows us the time we need to focus on Him and to grow in our faith. Everything is a process so don’t beat yourself down when you make mistakes. It takes time to be molded and shaped into what God wants us to become. This is a journey that God takes with us every day. Even if you get impatient and take the wrong steps, God will take you back and love you even more.
Remember that God is love. Because He is love, God gave Jesus to us because He knew we would need a mediator to make us righteous enough to stand in the holy presence of the Father. Praise God forever!
We are all still in a process to understand everything Jesus did for us and what God is still doing for us today. We have eternity to figure everything our and to fully understand the love God gives us. God loves us so much and that unconditional love is who God is.
