Over our last few blogs, we have learned many characteristics of angels. They are servants of God who are joyful beings. Angels rejoice every time someone receives Jesus as their Lord and Savior (Luke 15:10).

They are powerful and assist Jesus in every assignment they are given (Revelation 18:1). John said in his revelation that he saw another angel coming down from Heaven. This angel was Michael the angel of war.

In Psalm 103:20, we find out that they obey and heed to God’s word and they are holy beings. In Mark 8:38, Jesus said that when He returned to earth, the holy angels will accompany Him. Angels are morally and ethically pure, uncontaminated by this world. Angels are obligated to hear the decrees of God and to bring them to pass. If we are in a situation that is corrupt or unethical, we can be assured that angels are not there. Everything that uplifts God’s word and kingdom is driven by angels.

Angels also have the free-will to say yes or no. Isaiah 14:13-14 describes Lucifer, the most famous of the fallen angels. Lucifer made choices that ultimately lost him his place in Heaven. His rebellion paved the way for expulsion to the earth and ultimately the Lake of Fire that awaits him. Unfortunately, when Lucifer fell, one-third of the heavenly angels fell with him. The angels who stayed with God made the choice to stay with God and to continue to fully serve Him.

Angels are marked with a passion to serve and a zeal to do what they were purposed to do. They already have made the choice to serve God and to yield to the authority of God. We must remember that these powerful beings are part of the campaign of the Holy Spirit.

We can be assured that angels bring the Kingdom of God to the earth and make this world a better place. When we unite and work with angels, we can have the confidence that mighty and powerful things will happen in our lives.

Next time you wake up, remember to salute the Father, the Son Jesus, the Holy Spirit, and the angels around you. They are surely watching you.
