Thank you loving Father, thank you!

Today I was reminded of how important moms and dads are in the lives of their children. Both play a role in a child’s life from the very beginning.

Picture yourself being born. You were in the womb of your mother for 9 months. Today is your delivery day and your first glimpse of this world. You feel the warmth and anticipation of your mom’s loving arms holding you. She has waited 9 long months to meet you, hold you, and love you. She has already known you for many months.

Today is a marvelous day for both of you. You don’t know the pain and suffering her body, mind, and soul has been through, the countless nights of no sleep, not feeling well, tossing and turning all night. She has already been there for you before you even made you appearance on this earth.

As you continue to age, you are united with your parents forever. Many memories are made from mom and dad carrying you in their arms, protecting you, and providing for your every need.  You will hear many stories about when you began to walk, your first boo boo, running and falling, and many other firsts you experienced.

If you can, recall some of these memories your parents have told you about your childhood. Beautiful memories that you experienced with your parents. There is no doubt that you can have some appreciation for the sacrifices your parents made for  you.

I want you to picture that the hands that have been holding you all of those years are the hands of God the Father. God’s hands hold you, protect you, and nourish you. While in our mother’s womb, He is the one loving you and protecting you as you develop and He continues to protect and love you through all stages of your life.  God says to us, “I have summoned you by name and you are mine” (Isaiah 43:1).

I remember the day that I was introduced to God the Father. Romans 10:9-10 still plays through my mind from that very day. That day I took my Bible and accepted His word. God said to believe His word and confess His word. In that moment, I came to know God. However, I didn’t just know Him as God, I knew Him as my Heavenly Father. I also knew without a doubt that I was saved and I would physically see Him face-to-face when my life on this earth is done.

What about you? Do you know Him just like your mother knows you or you know her? It is beautiful to think that someone loves you that much before you were even born. The day you were placed in your mothers arms God your Father was there too. He loves you so much and God wants you to know Him today. Read Romans 10:9-10. He promised that you will know Him in this life and in the one to come.

Just one simple phrase to recap this message: thank you. We can say thank you for thinking of me, loving me, caring for me, and protecting me with my mother’s loving hands. Thank you Father.
