A Psalm of praise for our worthy Father

by Angela Moreno

At the end of March, my family faced what could have been a crisis.  My husband and I were both laid off from our jobs because of the shutdown of society.  We went from a two-income family to a no-income family.  Unemployment was available, but we had no idea how soon the money would start to roll in and if it would even be enough to sustain a three-person family.

But God had already stepped into our situation.

In mid-February, I woke up with a feeling of uncertainty.  I could feel in my soul that we were heading for something big and possibly life-changing.  I woke up my husband and told him that something big was coming and I didn’t know what it was.  But I did know we were to prepare, start stocking up food and paying up bills.  So from that moment on we prepared.

And God prepared the way for us.  We had been sowing our seed in His kingdom and God took care of His children. We wanted for nothing and we needed nothing during this time.  God showed Himself to be mighty and to be in control.

I wrote this Psalm to praise Him and His mighty works:

All you people of the earth, praise His holy name!  Rejoice in the Father you have in Heaven!  Just like our earthly fathers, God takes care of and provides for His children. Believe in Him and He will provide for you too!

When Satan unleashed his darkness in this world, people panicked and uncertainty ruled. Our world as we knew it shut down and we no longer had the security we thought we once had. We were shown that we were not in control and were apathetic towards God and His ways. Our minds had to change; the Church had to come alive and fully rely on you and your strength.

I praise you Lord in all your glory! When times were dark and scary, we could have easily gone without. But you provided. You had us prepare for uncertain times making everything a little less uncertain. Your guidance made a time that could have been stressful and full of fear much easier.  We lacked for nothing and we feared nothing!

Instead of falling into fear and despair, we turned to you and your mighty ways. You took an uncertain time and showed us that you are a certain God who always provides. Just like the birds in the air and the flowers in the field, you take care of and love your children. We praise you for your protection and your provision!

Praise you Lord for all you do for each of us every single day!  Forgive us for not acknowledging you and singing your praises each day.   Your protection, your grace, and your forgiveness are abundant.  Praise you Lord!

Take a moment to review your last few months.  What do you see?  Do you see the uncertainty of this world or do you see the abundance of blessings God has placed in your life?  The old me would have just seen the uncertainty of this world and missed out on seeing the blessing.  Don’t let this be you.

Write God your own Psalm of praise for the blessings He bestows you with every day!
