Hebrews 11:6:  And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.

Something great happens when we take responsibility and believe in what will bring us a healthy spiritual life, a healthy mind, and a healthy soul.  We have always had a choice to believe that someone has our best interest in mind.  We are not alone in this world trying to figure things out. God has been interested in giving us the success and fulfillment we want in our lives. You can only find that in the power of belief in God.

Let’s look at the definition of belief.  The word belief on dictionary.com means: to have confidence in the truth; the existence or the reliability of something, to have confidence or faith in the truth of; to have confidence in the assertions of a person; to be persuaded of the truth or existence of; and to have faith in the reliability, honesty, benevolence, etc.

There is power available in believing the truth and in the One who holds the truth.  A good example can be found in the Old Testament with a man named Abraham.  This man chose to believe God even though he did not know God in many ways.  He put his trust in God and believed in Him.  As a a result, he became the father of the faith which was the lineage that Jesus was born into.  Abraham built his life on the foundation of believing God and trusting in God. We can find Abraham’s story iafterlife-1238609_1920-1Genesis 12-17.

Here are a few scriptures about how Abraham pleased God with his belief:

  • Galatians 3:6:  just as Abraham believed God, and it was counted to him as righteousness.
  • Romans 4:21:   [Abraham was] fully convinced that God was able to do what he had promised.

In the New Testament, Jesus also spoke about the results of believing in Him and in God:

  • John 1:50:  Jesus answered him, “Because I said to you, ‘I saw you under the fig tree,’ do you believe? You will see greater things than these.”
  • John 3:16:  For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
  • John 3:18:  Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.

The apostles also spoke about how important it was to believe in the name of Jesus Christ:

  • saint-paul-1276547_1920.jpgPaul said in Acts 16:31: Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household.
  • Peter said in 1 Peter 1:8: Though you have not seen him, you love him. Though you do not now see him, you believe in him and rejoice with joy that is inexpressible and filled with glory.
  • John said in 1 John 5:10a: Whoever believes in the Son of God has the testimony in himself.
  • John said in 1 John 5:13:  I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life.

As we enter into a new year, I believe that God is calling every one of us to upgrade our belief system and totally 100% trust in Him.  We must do this with no more doubts and no more fears and leaving the past behind us.

When we believe everything He says without questioning it and base our belief system on the truth and facts of His word, we will enter into a new dimension that we have not experienced before and our faith in God will reach a new height. The results of this new belief system will be more consistent with less disappointments.  Choose to believe and trust in Him.

Is it possible?  Absolutely.  Yes you can.
