Following the Lord’s lead

We are Pastors Ray & Kim Mills and we are the senior pastors of Praise & Worship Church in Broken Arrow, OK.  Our greatest joy is to serve Almighty, Holy Creator of the Universe who is so personal, He put His Spirit in us to guide us, empower us and lead us into green pastures.

We are not Okies by birth but by the plan of God.  Kim is a South Dakota native while I, Ray, am from Saskatchewan, Canada.

Kim was raised in a home with a mother & father who took her to church.  At the age of 3, she accepted Jesus as Lord & Savior of her life.  At 5 years of age, she was baptized with the Holy Spirit and her testimony is that of the keeping power of God.  She never tried the enticements of the world; never tasted alcohol, never tobacco to her lips, never attracted to drugs or any of Satan’s schemes.  She has always simply loved the Lord and desired to please Him.

kimladyHome life for my wife was not always easy with an alcoholic father, but Jesus has always been her rock.  At the age of 16, Kim’s father was miraculously saved and delivered from alcohol.  Kim along with her mother, father, sister and brother-in-law answered God’s call and began traveling full time as the gospel singing group ‘The Christ-A-Lairs’.

While holding a revival in Calgary, Alberta, I met my wife and her family.  I had just accepted Christ as my Lord and Savior and I was growing in my relationship with Jesus.  Although I was raised on a farm with parents who loved me and took me to a little country Baptist church every time the doors were open, my life was turbulent to say the least.  Due to events from my early years, I grew up very angry and rebellious which carried over into every part of my life.

At 27, I was miserable and ready to end my life.  I told God I was going to run my Corvette into a bridge and kill myself if He didn’t make Himself real to me.  I’ll never forget that day:  Jesus came to me, took the load of guilt and sin and began the process of changing me.

I met Kim at church, we married in 1980 and I joined her families singing group.  The group toured USA, Canada and Mexico for 13 years.  While traveling, God told Kim and I that we would someday pastor a church.

pwchurchWe have 2 beautiful daughters who are married to wonderful men of God.  While our daughters were in their late teens, we were attending a large church in Broken Arrow.  As we went into church on a Sunday morning, our daughters said to us “If this is all there is to church, we don’t want to go anymore!”  That will get a parent’s attention and we began to seek the Lord.

At the time we had a cabinet shop business and shortly thereafter God said “Its time.” We began Praise & Worship Church in a hotel and God has been so amazingly faithful.  It’s been all Him; we’ve just done our best to be obedient to His voice.

Praise & Worship Church is not a large church yet, but God moves by His Spirit as we allow Him to confirm His Word.  Currently we meet at 822 S. Elm Pl. in Broken Arrow, OK.  Every one is welcome.

Thank you to our longtime friend Antonio and his wonderful wife Angela for allowing us this privilege to share a portion of Gods goodness to us.

  1. You both have been an inspiration to my family and I. You held our hand when we couldn’t see satan’s schemes. Opened the word of God to us in many ways. The love and kindness you showed us we will never forget. I am thankful our paths have crossed. All though we are else where the two of you will never be forgotten. Hopefully we will find our ways back there. With prayer I believe we will be. Love you both and thank you
