An eternal court battle.

by Dot Coleman

(Dot runs a prison ministry and asked the Holy Spirit to give her something new to share with the prisoners. This is what the Holy Spirit gave her.)

I walked into the courtroom. Hush fell on everyone. As I approached the bench, I looked to my left and there sat the prosecution with the biggest book I have ever laid eyes on.

I thought who is that ugly little man. I was told that is your adversary, your accuser the Devil. Satan means accuser.

“So what is he doing with that big book?”

I was told that is God’s law. “All the thou shall nots and thou shall dos are recorded law-1991004_640there.”

“So what is he doing with God’s law book?”

“That is what gives him the legal right to accuse you. If God had never given us right and wrong laws, Satan would have nothing to accuse us of. Romans 5:13 says ‘where there is no law, there is no transgression of it.’ If you are driving down the road with no speed limit posted. You cannot be arrested for going too fast. Guess who was the first one to tell Adam about right and wrong?”

Then I noticed something strange about the book. There was a small hole that went clear through it. Next I was told to turn to the right and sit down next to my lawyer.

“My lawyer?”

“Yes. When you took Jesus to be your personal savior, the court appointed you a lawyer.”

“Who is he?” I asked.

“He is none other than the judge’s identical twin. He is called the Holy Spirit. In the word of God, He is called your advocate, counselor, comforter, guide, teacher, and friend.”

Wow I thought and O.J. Simpson thought he had the dream team.

No sooner had I sat down, Satan started in on his ramblings, accusations, and condemnation. I thought dear God I am guilty of some of that. Then he quoted from the book of James that says if you offend in one point, you are guilty of it all. He had me and I was guilty as charged. The court just let him ramble on and I was getting weaker and weaker.

“Who is this man?”

“He is the judge’s firstborn son whom He loves.”

He addressed the judge as Dad and handed Him the small vial.

“What is in it?”

“It contains His blood. He is entering it as evidence.”

“Why is it so small?”

“It only takes one drop.”

All this time Satan was getting louder and louder so the Judge banged down His gavel and told him to zip it. Then the Son went further and pointed out the hole in the book and said something about it being a nail hole. Suddenly Satan dropped the book like a hot potato and sat there and whined like a whipped dog.

Then I remembered what the word says in Colossians 2:14 that Jesus nailed the law with all of it’s ordinances to the cross and Satan has no more legal right to charge us with it.

Then I was asked to approach the bench with my council. The judge banged down His gavel and I expected Him to judge me innocent of the charges, but He went much farther and said, “This court finds you righteous, holy, sanctified without spot or wrinkle, free of all condemnation. Romans 8 says there is therefore now no condemnation to them who are in Christ Jesus for the law of the spirit of life in Christ Jesus has freed you from the law of sin and death.”

Case dismissed.
