In the previous two messages, we discussed the lion, the bear, the leopard, and the beast that Daniel saw in his vision. We also discussed how each of these animals lined up with the kingdoms that Nebuchadnezzar saw in his dream.
Today we look at the final part of the vision and how it too coincides with Nebuchadnezzar’s dream.
The Son of Man:
“I saw in the night visions, and behold, with the clouds of heaven there came one like a son of man, and he came to the Ancient of Days and was presented before him. And to him was given dominion and glory and a kingdom, that all peoples, nations, and languages should serve him; his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom one that shall not be destroyed (Daniel 7:13-14).
After Daniel saw the four beast, he then saw “one like a son of man” descending from the clouds. The Son of Man is Jesus whom God the Father sent to this earth in human form to pay the debt for the sins of mankind. Jesus was born of a virgin, preached to the masses for 3 years, and then handed over to man for judgment against false accusations. He was tried, found guilty, sentenced to death, and crucified. Jesus was buried, resurrected, and ascended to Heaven to be with the Father.
God gave the Son all of His glory and power and the authority to reign over all creation. Every person on this earth will bow down and worship Him. His dominion is everlasting and His kingdom will never end or be destroyed.
Jesus made His first appearance on this earth over 2000 years ago. Daniel’s vision tells us
that we will see a second appearance of Jesus after the seven year tribulation ends. Revelation 19:11: Then I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse! The one sitting on it is called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he judges and makes war. This verse along with the verses in Daniel are about the second coming of Jesus to the earth to rule and reign.
After the final kingdom of man, Jesus returns to the earth to take on the final beast and to restore order to the earth. After judging the people and the beast, Jesus will set up His millennial kingdom on this earth that will last 1000 years. Another judgment will occur at that time for the people born during the millennial kingdom and then Jesus’s eternal kingdom will reign forever.
The Son of Man is the stone mentioned in Nebuchadnezzar’s dream.
Final Thoughts:
We as Christians are still living in this dream and the vision. The final pieces are still left undone and are future events in God’s timeline. Our roots trace back to the Garden of Gethsemane and the road that Jesus walked and was lead to His death hanging on the cross and dying for us. He did all of this so we can have access to the Father now and He paid our sin debt in full. Because of all of this, we can be a part of that everlasting kingdom mentioned in both Daniel 2:44 and Daniel 7:9.
Glory to our Savior and King Jesus Christ for doing what He willingly chose to do for us so that everyone who believes in Him can take part in His everlasting kingdom. Remember that we are already living in that kingdom with Jesus and reigning with Him while He sits in heaven waiting for the Father to instruct Him to return to the earth.
I leave you with these final words from Jesus Himself: He who testifies to these things says, “Surely I am coming soon.” Amen. Come, Lord Jesus! (Revelation 22:20).
Be glad and rejoice! Allelujah!
One response to “Daniel’s vision links to Nebuchadnezzar’s dream- part 3.”
Book of Daniel have to be read in the light of book of Revelation.
Revelation only speaks about the Dragon, the Beast with 7 heads, and the Lamb with horns.
The other diabolic animals are history.
Here is my version of Nebuchadnezzar’s dream:
The Lamb of God is our victory !!!
